I don't just work on clients, I work with clients. We both do the sessions together.
Rolfing SI is a very special type of bodywork that is unique in many ways. The main focus is on the way the body relates to gravity, and on aligning the body so the two work more efficiently together. Rolfers take a holistic view of the body that sees what is working well and what could be improved and then work with clients to bring them to the next level of improvement that is available for them. It is a very interactive therapy with the client participating in the work, and becoming more in tune with their body. Another aspect of Rolfing is the focus on integration, or putting a body back together. The benefits from the work are long lasting as well, and for many people, receiving Rolfing work has been a life-changing experience.
Most commonly, people experience the work through a Ten Series, a set of ten approximately one hour sessions that typically occur over the course of ten to twelve weeks. In concept the Ten Series is one session that thoroughly works through the body, examines the habitual patterns of posture and movement, and gives new options for old patterns of moving and relating in the world that is broken up into ten different hours.
"So many therapists are striking at the pattern of disease, instead of supporting the pattern of health. One of the things that you as Rolfers must always emphasize is that you are not practitioners curing disease; you are practitioners invoking health." Dr. Ida Rolf

A Rolfing session will typically be around 60-75 minutes, most of which will be hands on work. All sessions begin with a discussion about what we will do during the session, then we will look at your posture and gait patterns. Following this will be the hands on work with the body. Then we will conclude with revisiting the posture and gait observations that we began with, allowing both of us to see what changes have been made. Each client's sessions are tailored to them.
Traditionally women wear a bra and underwear or shorts, while men wear boxers or athletic shorts. The most important thing is that you are comfortable, so if you would rather wear a tank top or T shirt and shorts that is fine, as long as the clothing is not too tight or prevents movement.
Sessions are usually 60-75 minutes. $100 per session.
Cancellation Policy: There is a 24 hour cancellation policy. Clients will be responsible for half the session fee for any missed appointments that are not canceled within 24 hours.
Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.
